Production of replicas
"palaeontology & archaeology"
With more than 15 years' professional experience of our engineers and technicians in the 3D digitising and 3D free-form design, we explicitly address public institutions, academic and practising archaeologists, museums, restorers, architects, artists and designers with our very special portfolio:
- Non-contact digitising of paleontological and archaeological exhibits and artefacts (digital capture of fragile, light-, temperature- and humidity-sensitive, immovable, rare and/or expensive objects with laser and optical scanners at your location or in our laboratory)
- Digital capture of non-visible or hidden structures (computer tomography, digital volume tomography)
- Editing and processing of digital data on the computer (reconstruction of objects with inner and outer contours as well as in the captured colours and, if necessary, repair of records in the event that parts or sections of the object may no longer exist or cannot be found)
- Documentation of test results (computer-aided 3D simulation, report and/or expert assessment)
In our factory we subsequently manufacture replicas as one-of-a-kind product or in small batches. For testing purposes, we also manufactures technical devices:
- Very stable, water-resistant and inexpensive monochrome replicas made of plastic (suitable for experiments and study)
- Highly accurate monochrome or polychrome replicas made of surface-hardened composite material (for exhibition)
- Monochrome replicas made of surface-hardened composite material with subsequent manual colourisation (allows reproduction in an authentic or desired texture for display)
- Replicas made of light metal or steel (suitable for test rigs, for example, to check loads, simulate movement patterns, produce large and multi-part models for simulations and/or film footage, etc.)
Typical exhibits are for example bones of dinosaur skeletons, bones of human skeletons, household items, jewellery, ritual and religious objects, tools, weapons, sculptures, pieces of cars and ships, portions of building facades, etc.
Note: We are an exclusive partner of the Reiss-Engelhorn museum and the Curt-Engelhorn foundation in Mannheim and the General Direction of the Cultural Heritage of Rheinland-Pfalz in Koblenz and Speyer! See also entries at partner links and media!
