The SCYTEQ group can look back on more than 40 years of experience in production technology and special machine construction. Since 1968, Dieter Welsch Sr. designed and constructed special machinery, initially for the manufacture of paper and consumer goods and later for the production of wood fibre boards. This vocation was also conferred to his son.

Mr. Dieter Welsch Jr., our current director, studied mechanical engineering at the Ruhr-University Bochum. In the early 1990s on behalf of a leading press manufacturer he moved to South East Asia, where he gradually took over as director for the re-construction and re-modelling of particleboard and MDF plants. At the end of the 1990s he moved to the concrete processing industry and managed the plant construction division of a renowned manufacturer of roofing tiles.

Historically, we originated in 2003 from the development, construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance of machines for the wood and concrete processing industry, then still under the name "Nova Industrial GmbH". We initially worked for production plants in developing and emerging countries, manufacturing machine components, devices and machines for them and setting up functioning maintenance systems together with them. Just after one year, the capacity of the business premises was no longer sufficient and we decided to shift to our present headquarters in the industrial area of Cochem.

With our in-depth expert knowledge accumulated over years of practical service in distant countries and the knowledge about the absolute necessity of certain resources, we succeeded increasingly in the following years to acquire customers in Central Europe and North America, to advise them professionally and to establish functioning maintenance systems with them.

Simultaneously, we were increasingly confronted by the need to make highly accurate measurements of precision parts and to digitally capture free-shaped components in order to subsequently draw and create them. Because, our customers mainly used machines that were partly from the 1960s and 1970s and for which only very few expensive spare parts were to be found in the world market. Often, the early machine manufacturers could no longer be located.

From 2004 to 2007, we invested in the relatively new 3D digitising systems of that time and gradually set up an extensive laboratory for tactile and also for non-contact 3D measurement and 3D digitisation. Our growth has been organic. In mid-2007 we expanded our premises to create more space for our employees in the technical designing and also in our laboratory.

In 2008 we re-positioned ourselves in the market because of our increasing specialisation and not least due to the fateful global financial crisis that began in spring of that year. We also renamed it "SCYTEQ GmbH" and separated the research and development areas of the service and manufacturing sectors by establishing two subsidiaries.

With excellent training and in-depth expertise, along with more than 40 years of active professional experience and high motivation, today we are, with our team of engineers and technicians, your experienced and renowned specialist for professional, results-based maintenance, for 3D design, for the generative production of exhibits and prototypes as well as for conventional production and special machine construction.

Our job has, then as now, a very high practical relevance. Besides the functioning of components, machinery and equipment, we were and are accustomed to scrutinising the respective design on which a component is based. Grounded on this "dual" approach, we developed in recent years a results-based methodology virtually auto-didactically, which is now the mainstay of our company.
